My 5 year old dtr was required to sit out of PE everyday because she was disruptive, isn't this extreme?

My daughter was disruptive in her PE cl and is now required to sit out everyday. She has an orange star to sit on while the other kindergartners are participating. I could understand being removed when she is not following directions, but everyday she has to sit for 30 minutes while everyone else is participating? I think this teacher has gone too far. Does anyone have an suggestions? I have emailed the principle. I did talk to the PE teacher at open house, because I was sure my daughter wasn't sitting out everyday and not given the opportunity to behave, but that was not the case.
