Can anyone tell me anything about the author Bayard Simmons or his book 'The Pagoda of Untroubled Ease'?

I found this book in my loft whilst clearing it out and as yet have not been able to find any trace of the book anywhere. Can anyone tell me anything about either the book itself or the author please? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
